Epic day hike 12/6/2012

I did a lengthy day hike at newton hills which stretched from the campground to the horse camp. This hike was 6-8 miles long, the biggest hike I've done. I was going to include a map but didn't get to it, partially cause I got sick soon after this hike.

I took a wrong turn and lost the trail and had to climb back up.

I walked by these guts which were either part of a extraterrestrial dissection, or something a predator killed. I was remembering what I read in backpacker about bears and mountain lions leaving a fresh kill and defending it savagely. So I guess I felt like I was being hunted.

 This is the end of the Turkey trot trail that connects the two trails in the park, and was a milestone for Me.

This picture looked like a wasteland to Me, probably due to the drought we've been having. 
All and all I'm not sure if this lengthy December hike was worth the flu I caught afterwards or not.

Pre hike report

I'm headed out for a hike today it should be about ten miles, a new record.

Another day hike

I went for a hike at Newton Hills, but I'm sick of taking pictures out there. My pack got sun bleached at Jazzfest this summer. I'm getting swamped by Backpacker magazines!

Not much to say

I did a sort of lengthy hike around Big Sioux recreation area. The fall colors were amazing but I was kind of under the weather, or depressed so it kept Me from enjoying it. And it wasn't as fun as mountain biking it, I'm kind of turning into a fatass.
I subscribed to backpacker but it hasn't showed up yet.

I did go for a hike

I have gone on several hikes since July to try to stay fit, but I'm losing the battle. I can't find a copy of backpacker magazine anywhere here!

Update

I've been busy with My new job and other obligations, but I did manage to get out and hike. I tried some naughty stuff I read about in backpacker.

Great bear

I did all the short hikes out at great bear, they were following Me with a mower for awhile. I had a short lunch at the top, you could see the new cna building real good. My hiking may've taken a hit this summer too.

Planning to hike

I was going to go hiking with this girl Tracy but it isn't going to work out, for some reason she still wanted Me to do her lawn work or something like that. Anyways I'll probably go to great bear or newton hills, for some reason we're having a hard time affording bug spray though.
A whole lot of stuff is landing on Saturday for some reason, like I was supposed to test for My G.E.D. but I decided to sit it out in favor of the bike ride. Furthermore I have absolutely nothing to do till Saturday, with My new boss being out of town so I'm blowing time, which is nothing new to Me.
